AYŞE ÖNDER, composer

Ayse OnderAyse Önder was born in Izmir, Turkey, to a musician family. She took her first music lessons from her father Selim Önder. She studied composition at the Hacettepe University State Conservatory in Ankara. After her graduation, in August 2000, she went to USA do her dma (doctoral music of arts) at the University of Hartford in The Hartt School of Music, CT, and graduated in August 2006. Between 2004 September and January 2006, she studied at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Amsterdam with Theo Loevendie. She attended several summer couses for composers, e.g. in Austria, France, England, Germany, and The Netherlands. Her pieces have been performed in Turkey, USA, The Netherlands, Germany and Austria.

Awards that she got at several competitions:

1-Ministry of Culture of Turkey, 2004 Ankara-Turkey;
2-A honorable mention from ACO (American Composers Orchestra, 2002 NYC-USA; 3-British Council, 2000 Turkey; 4-Nejat F. Eczacibasi, 1998, Izmir-Turkey.
