MENNAN YAPO, screenplay writer, actor, producer and director

Mennan YapoMennan Yapo (Mennan Yapicioglu) was born in 1966 in Munich to Turkish parents. Since 1995, Yapo has written several screenplays in German as well as in English; he produced three short films as an executive producer and has appeared as a supporting actor in Peter Greenaway’s “The Pillow Book” (1996) and Wolfgang Becker’s “Good Bye, Lenin!” (2003). Yapo’s first directing project, the short film “Framed”, was supported by the FilmFernsehFond Bayern and the Filmstiftung NRW.

“FRAMED” was made in co-production with NDR and Arte as well as Universal Studio Networks (13th Street). “FRAMED” was nominated for the German Film Prize in 1999 and invited to numerous national and International Film Festivals, including the Hofer Filmtage and the Seattle International Filmfest.

Mennan is currently working on a movie called “Premonition” with Sandra Bullock, and will make his Hollywood feature debut on this project.

Written by Bill Kelly, the script has a woman with a premonition that her husband will die in a car crash, and begins to try to start a chain reaction of events to prevent it from happening.

Tri-Star Pictures will distribute the picture.
