EMRE ERDEM, ITI-UNESCO TEC Vice President, Dramaturg, Researcher, Theater Critic, Scholar and Academician

Emre ErdemEmre Erdem graduated from University of Istanbul Theatre Department and Education Department. During his studies he has realized numerous “drama in education” projects for children and teenagers in the poor districts of Turkey. He worked as a director assistant by Genco Erkal at Dostlar Theatre in 1998. The play was “Barefoot in Athens” by Maxwell Anderson) He was awarded the Goethe Institutes’ Artists Fellowship and has been in Germany helping with war victims and gypsy children. He worked as an assistant in the University of Essen in 2000-2002. Parallel to his lectures he has created and realized “One Ray of Hope” Project in the earthquake zone in Turkey with the help of German theatre instructors from Grips and Dresden Young Generation Theatre. He has been employed as a theatre instructor by Yehudi Menuhin Foundation in NRW-Germany. He was the first Turkish artist which worked between other colleges. In 2003 he has worked as an assistant in the University of Lüneburg, Germany.

BERAL MADRA, critic and curator

Beral Madra, a critic and curator, directed Gallery BM (1984-1990) and directing BM Contemporary Art Center (since 1990).

She coordinated the 1st (1987) and the 2nd (1989) Istanbul Biennale, curated exhibitions of Turkish artists in 43rd, 45th, 49th , 50th and 51st Venice Biennale, co-curated the exhibition Modernities and Memories-Recent Works from the Islamic World in 47th Venice Biennale.

Since 1984 she has organized solo exhibitions of 50 local and international artists in her art centre and in other official art spaces in Istanbul.
